04.14.11Kim featured on TV for animal advocacy!
I was recently featured on ABC 6 and WJAR News Channel 10 for my work with Buddy the dog, who I chose to play Sandy in a production of Annie I directed and choreographed. The production, for Rhode Island Youth Theatre, was performed entirely by students ages 7 to 15 in February. Buddy made the headlines then, and was featured in the Providence Journal, Cranston Herald and Warwick Beacon.
Buddy was (and is) a shelter dog from the East Greenwich Animal Protection League. Our hope was that, through the exposure of our show, she would be adopted. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.
On Sunday, 4/10, I found out Buddy has been injured at the shelter and required an $1800. If no one came forward to adopt her, she would be euthanized.
Well, that's no longer the case! Through some of my efforts, we were able to get Buddy a LOT of media attention. She was on several major news broadcasts, on the front page of our statewide paper, on the Buddy Cianci Radio Show and went viral on Facebook and in email blasts.
This weekend, we will be holding several open houses with her, and hope that she'll be adopted by Sunday, the latest!
Check back for more news, but for now, please watch the related video clips (below and in my "Links" section) from our local news broadcasts!

10.16.09Flames of Hope TV Special
Check out the Flames of Hope television special presented by ABC 6 tonight (10/16) at 7pm! It's a one hour look at the rememberance of loved ones lost and the celebration of life and survivors of breast cancer that took place at the Gloria Gemma Foundation's Flames of Hope waterfire on October 10th. If you can't watch it tonight, hopefully it will be on the internet at some point, so I'll post it here!
09.08.09Kim to Sing at Flames of Hope
Every year in October, the Providence State House is ablaze with pink lights and words of inspiration. The reason? The Gloria Gemma Foundation. This fantastic foundation is all about spreading awareness about breast cancer, and helping the victims and survivors of this disease live the best lives possible.
Flames of Hope is an annual celebration of survival and a rememberance of those lost. Paired with a full lighting of Providence's Waterfires, Flames of Hope begins at sunset on the steps of the Statehouse on October 10th. I'll be performing, along with Festival Ballet and many other talented local artists. Please join me at this poignant and inspiring event.
09.07.09"47 Ways To Die" To Premiere on October 8th
"47 Ways to Die", a new production presented by The American Repertory Theatre at Club Oberon (Formerly The Zero Arrow Theatre) is an exploration of death and suicide...with a touch of a vaudeville. The show takes on the heavy topic of loss in a comedic and lighthearted way, as the bizarrest and most fantastical ways to die are explored. This theatre experience will take place on October 8th at 10:30pm, with a possible extension through the end of October (and maybe even beyond). Keep an eye out for more info and updates, coming soon.

07.20.08Evita Opens This Weekend!
Evita opened this weekend, and despite the immense talent of the leads, the ensemble was recognized!
"The real star of this show, though, is the ensemble. The best of Webber's music is in the chorus members, and this cast doesn't disappoint. The choreography, too, is beautifully arranged."
-DANIEL H. TRAFFORD, The Call/The Times
06.22.08George M! Opens to Great Reviews!
This weekend we opened George M! and the reviews in. People seem to love the high energy and spectacle of our tap dancing and production numbers, and what a perfect time for the built-in patriotism of this classic!
"Their high energy production of "George M!" - the more-than-a-revue songfest based on the patriotic life of Rhode Island song-and-dance legend George M. Cohan - is simply off the charts. The casting is superb, the singing point on, the sets cleverly assembled and disassembled, but, most importantly, you can drink in an ensemble of pros who can actually, truly, wildly, splendidly dance!!!"
-JAMES A. MEROLLA STAFF WRITER, The Sun Cronicle
"[There was] what appeared to be a budget-busting ensemble and chorus and a host of equity actors and talented locals to fill out the playbill...the ensemble [was] so finely tuned for their dance numbers that nary a beat was missed for the entire evening."
-DAVE CHRISTNER, Mercury
